Trump Will Send “Presidential Alert” To Every Cell Phone In America On Thursday

By Tyler Durden

The Federal Emergency Management Agency  (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on September 20th.

The emergency communications drill will begin at 2:18 p.m. EDT through 2:20 p.m. EDT. Every cell phone in the US will receive a text message from President Trump.

All US wireless firms and more than 100 mobile carriers are participating in the exercise that allows for presidential alerts, FEMA wrote in a Thursday press release.

“The EAS [Emergency Alert System] is a national public warning system that provides the president with the communications capability to address the nation during a national emergency,” FEMA said in a statement.

Cell phones will receive a text message that states “Presidential Alert” and “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

Separate from the FEMA statement, a FEMA National Test Fact Sheet detailed how the EAS is used with radio and television broadcasters, cable systems, satellite radio and television providers, and wireline video providers. The upcoming FEMA EAS message will read:

“THIS IS A TEST of the National Emergency Alert System. This system was developed by broadcast and cable operators in voluntary cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Federal Communications Commission, and local authorities to keep you informed in the event of an emergency. If this had been an actual emergency, an official message would have followed the tone alert you heard at the start of this message. A similar Wireless Emergency Alert test message has been sent to all cell phones nationwide. Some cell phones will receive the message; others will not. No action is required.”

The WEA system is currently in use to warn the public about dangerous weather, missing children, and other vital information. The FEMA WEA message will read:

“THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

The goal of the test will evaluate the readiness to distribute an emergency message nationwide and determine whether improvements are needed, FEMA said in a statement. The upcoming alerts will be sent using FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS), which allows government officials to send emergency messages to multiple communications networks, including the EAS and WEA as part of the nation’s modern alert and warning infrastructure.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai explains how the Wireless Emergency Alert system works

Despite Trump’s obsession with Twitter as a direct means of communicating, experts told NBC News last week that President Trump will not abuse the “Presidential Alert” system.

“If you separate this from the politics and personality of any individual president then this is a great idea and an amazing use of technology to reach everybody if they’re in harms way,” said Karen North, director of the Annenberg Digital Social Media program at the University of Southern California.

UCLA communications professor Tim Groeling agreed, told NBC via email, “broadcast-based emergency alert systems … have remained professional and impartial over decades.”

How did Twitter respond to Trump’s new communication channels?

So when the tens of millions of Americans get the “Presidential Alert” on September 20, do not freak out — it is just President Trump debuting the new emergency communication systems that broadcast personalized emergency messages on a much larger plane than Twitter.

As for the many folks who have blocked him on social media, well, it is almost certain that there will be an uproar when liberals look at their phones and see a text message from Trump later this week.

The REAL Reason Bottled Water Has An Expiration Date

by Sara Tipton

Bottled water is a popular item to store in case of an emergency, and for good reason. It is normally readily available and water should be able to be stored forever, right? So then why is there an expiration date on bottled water?

Of course, water doesn’t expire, but you should still check the expiration date on the bottle before you drink it. According to Live Science, there are two reasons why water bottles come with expiration dates, and the first one, you shouldn’t worry too much about, but the second one should make you think twice.

Since water is a consumable product, regulations and laws require bottles to be stamped with an expiration date even though water doesn’t ever “expire.” Rational people understand this, but the government feels the need to step in and protect us from ourselves anyway. The only reason they were put there in the first place was that a 1987 New Jersey state law required all food products to display an expiration date, including water, according to Mental Floss. Since it wasn’t very cost effective for companies to label and ship batches of expiration-dated water to one state alone, most bottled water producers simply started giving every bottle a two-year sell-by date—no matter where it was going. Because the law is rather arbitrary, don’t worry too much about drinking expired water just because a law demands a company stamp the bottle. However, the expiration date serves more of a warning about the bottle itself than the water contained inside.

Unlike the water itself, which has existed on Earth for 4.5 billion years, that manufactured plastic bottle only has so much time before it “goes bad.” The plastic bottles that water comes packaged in (usually polyethylene terephthalate (PET) for retail bottles and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) for water cooler jugs). The bottle will eventually fail (expire) and begin to leach plastic chemicals into the water with an effect on the overall taste. So if you happen to find a water bottle well past its printed expiration date in your home, it’s probably safe to drink, if you don’t mind the chemical bits of bottle which have broken down and are now swirling around in it, but you should also be aware of the fact that it might not be super fresh tasting anymore either. But in a life and death situation, you could drink well-expired bottled water and probably be alright. But there are many options for storing water that could help you avoid drinking the plastic.

PLASTIC CONTAINERS

That said, storing water for a disaster or emergency should be done in only food grade containers. You can avoid plastics such as HDPE and PET to prevent the leaching of chemicals, but those are, technically “food grade” plastics (according to the FDA – so take that with a grain of salt) and you may not have a way around it. Also, choosing BPA-free containers will be safer as well. If water is not stored correctly, it can (and will) become toxic. You can minimize the chances of plastic chemicals leaching into your water if you store it in a cool dry place. Direct sunlight will break down the plastic more quickly. But if there is any doubt in your mind at all about the integrity of your container, trust your gut over the labels and do not store water in that container even if the FDA says its safe to do so.  There are plenty of other options.

One water storage suggestion is a 55-Gallon Rainwater Collection System. Some are made from FDA approved polyethylene resin (and are also BPA free). This particular one has a  plastic barrel and the capacity to hold enough water to supply a family of 4 with over 13 days worth of water, or 2 people nearly a 30 day supply of water. The dark blue color of this 55-gallon barrel restricts light and helps control the growth of harmful algae and bacteria.

GLASS CONTAINERS

You can also use glass containers to store water. There is no chance that the container will leach and if you’ve got some extra mason jars laying around after canning, it may be a good way to put those to some good use. Of course, the major disadvantage of glass is that it’s not only heavy, it is pretty easy to break. However, steps can be taken to minimize the chances of the glass breaking, such as wrapping the glass containers with newspaper or cardboard. Check out these highly-rated 18 oz leak-proof glass bottles for your water storage needs if you decide glass is right for you.

A WELL

The best way to ensure you have enough water on hand and a replenishable supply of the water is to get a mechanized well. This is my family’s method of “storing” water. We don’t actually have to store any at all, though, and can focus on building our supply of ammunition and non-perishable foods because of it. Of course, we have the well on a pump that works with electricity, however, we also have devised a way to retrieve water from the well in the event of a crisis or disaster in which we have no power. It is important to keep in mind that this is more of a water generation system than “storage” system, but its the most effective for long-term disasters and therefore worth mentioning. Since wells both store and produce water, if you can build one on your property, you should have a good source of drinking water during an emergency. As the website Skilled Survival put it: this is highly dependent on how much of your well is mechanized. But the fact remains: someone with a working water well is going to survive a disaster far easier than the rest.

Global Economic Warning: “A Day Of Reckoning Is Coming”

By Mac Slavo

The world is awash in debt – some $233 Trillion is currently outstanding on a global scale. And though stock markets have seen unprecedented growth in recent years, cracks have started to appear. Just this week analysts at Goldman Sachs warned that a crash is coming, a sentiment echoed by JP Morgan Chase, which recently said that the next economic collapse could very realistically lead to social unrest and chaos on the streets of America that has “not been seen in half a century.”

Patrick Donnelly, a director at Harvest Gold Corp, suggests that it won’t be long now. In an interview with SGT Report Donnelly warns that the day of reckoning is rapidly approaching:

Countries like Greece are teetering… and that’s just a tiny little country… it’s going to take them 75 years to climb out of their debt…

You look at a country like Canada, the United States or China… the amount of debt is just staggering…

…For these tech stocks, the valuations we’ve seen… the multiples they trade at are ridiculous.

The markets are supposed to be rational… but the markets are totally irrational.

It’s frightening… there’s going to be a day of reckoning…

Watch Full interview:

(Watch at Youtube)

There’s no question that what goes up must come down, and given that stock market growth over the last decade has been fueled not by revenue and profit, but by central bank money printing, the coming crash will send shockwaves across the globe.

The crash of 2008 will look like a small correction compared to what’s coming next.

And when the bottom finally falls out amid panic selling unlike anything we’ve ever witnessed before, Donnelly says that capital will begin to flow into historical safe haven assets of last resort.

Gold has always been used as a store of value or protection against inflation. We’ve seen a lot of volatility lately with inflation in emerging economies and concerns over the trade wars happening globally… and everyone’s flocking to the U.S. dollar

Yet, the U.S. government has trillions of dollars of debt… At what point does the global economy become concerned about this debt load and therefore undermines the credibility of the dollar?

Then where does everybody go? They’re not going to go to the Chinese Yuan… They’re not going to go to the Euro… They’re certainly not going to the Russian Ruble.

They’re going to go back to gold. That’s the place to be. The fundamentals are astronomical.

It’s a view likely shared by big banks like JP Morgan, which recently announced it will no longer be placing short bets that silver will be going down, while at the same time stockpiling literally hundreds of millions of ounces of precious metals in their vaults.

Perhaps they know something.

Donnelly explains:

The closing of the shorts means they have to cover it all and that’s a lot of silver. People don’t realize it but the silver [and gold] market are not large markets. So, it’s not going to take much to move it.

While some may be touting recent economic numbers as proof of a healthy and growing economy, the fact is that U.S. financial markets are more overvalued today than ever before.

This time is different, of course, and infinite growth is a foregone conclusion for many investors. But those who see the writing on the wall know what happens next and it won’t be pretty.

We’ve seen it in Argentina… we’ve seen it in Turkey… what if it spreads to China? Then we’ve got big problems…

It’s certainly a realistic proposition… and we’re starting to see some inflationary pressure in the United States…

We’re  starting to see currencies being debased because of all this… and eventually the markets will flock to hard assets.

Translation: You’re going to want to consider gold and silver as protection for the next major global crash.

9/11 Truth Wildfire Still Spreading – Ron Unz “comes out” With a Bang

The new wave of censorship isn’t working

I have long suspected that Ron Unz, my favorite conservative intellectual, was a closet 9/11 truther. Now Ron has confirmed my suspicions. His new article “American Pravda: 9/11 Conspiracy Theories” is a barn-burner of a coming-out.

Listen to Ron Unz discuss “Holocaust Denial” and the JFK assassination on my radio show.

Alongside his own article Ron Unz has just published Laurent Guyénot’s “9/11 Was an Israeli Job.” Since almost all the other intellos committed mass suicide drinking Charlie Hebdo kool

aid in 2015, Dr. Guyénot has emerged as arguably the most important French intellectual of our time. (Read his magisterial new book From Yahweh to Zion, which puts the JFK assassination and 9/11 in historical context.)

We have been condemned to live in interesting times, and the 9/11 anniversary is always an interesting day. Don’t miss the live-streams of the big events in New York, Washington DC, and San Francisco. If you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, come on down to the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland for the 9/11 Film Festival, where I will have a table…and will be giving a short talk on censorship.  Below is the text of my talk.

Censorship Crisis: Bad News and Good News

I’ve got some bad news and some good news for you today, and it’s no joke.

The bad news is that America, indeed all of Western civilization, is facing a censorship crisis. Key battlegrounds include the academy and the media…and even public libraries! My friend and False Flag Weekly News colleague Jeremy Rothe-Kushel was actually arrested for asking Dennis Ross about Israel’s connection to 9/11 during a Q&A at the Kansas City Public Library! And yes, he is suing the bastards.

Jeremy was grabbed and dragged out of the library by trained-in-Israel off-duty cops. He was arrested right after he mentioned Alan Sabrosky, the former Director of Strategic Studies at the US Army War College, who has argued that Israel was the main 9/11 culprit.

Dr. Sabrosky, who like Jeremy is Jewish, is apparently a very sensitive topic in some circles: The good news is that Bonnie Faulkner of Guns and Butter was not tackled or arrested for broadcasting a lecture by Dr. Sabrosky. The bad news is that she and her decades of archives have been scrubbed by the KPFA censors. More on that in a moment.

I had my own brush with censorship in 2006, when I was blacklisted from the University of Wisconsin and the whole Western academy for questioning 9/11. Since then, Norman Finkelstein of DePaul University, Joy Karega of Oberlin College, James Tracy of Florida Atlantic University, Steven Suleita of the University of Illinois, and Anthony Hall of the University of Lethbridge have had their careers blown up for discussing false flags and/or Zionism.

Like the academy, the internet-based alternative media—the last bastion of free speech and free inquiry in an increasingly fear-addled dumbed-down conformist society—is under concerted attack. Search engines, including those of Google and Youtube, are tweaking their algorithms to unfairly favor mainstream over alternative media. Social media are following suit.

In the past, when the internet was a more level playing field, subversive information really could “go viral.” The classic example was Loose Change, the 2005 9/11 truth film that quickly reached a hundred million views.

Shortly before the 9/11 anniversary in 2013, the NSA (or someone with equivalent capabilities) stopped the Russia Today program “9/11 and Operation Gladio” from going viral. This episode of Daniel Bushell’s TruthSeeker show quickly rocketed on a trajectory toward tens or hundreds of millions of views…and then suddenly froze when it completely disappeared from all search engines. Emails containing the url for the program disappeared into a black hole in cyberspace.

After Russia Today Founder Mikhail Lesin was beaten to death in a Washington DC hotel room in November 2015, RT scrubbed the program and stopped covering 9/11 truth.

Today, if you make a 9/11 truth youtube, the NSA or Mossad or whoever it was doesn’t have to worry. The search engines themselves, including Youtube’s internal search engine, will make sure it doesn’t go viral.

And it gets worse. Now the internet oligarchs are demonetizing or even removing alternative media channels. My NoLiesRadio show False Flag Weekly News was demonetized last year when GoFundMe banned us and stole more than a thousand dollars we had raised. Veterans Today, the leading publication exposing the Israeli role in 9/11 and other false flags, has been banned from Facebook. YouTube has threatened or erased countless channels.

For some reason the censors’ war on the bombastic, egotistical, paranoid-sounding Trump-fanboy Alex Jones dominates the headlines. Yes, I know Alex occasionally does some good work. But much better sources are being censored—and the media won’t tell you about it!  The worst censorship is itself censored! Here are just a few more examples:

*Iran’s news channel Press TV, which covers 9/11 truth and other taboo topics, has been removed from all satellite and cable in the West due to Israeli pressure.

*In history’s worst-ever digital book-burning, hundreds of history books have been banned by the monopoly bookseller Amazon…and people who simply express opinions about some of those books, in the most inoffensive and reasonable ways, are being sent to maximum security prison—in Europe, not the USA…at least for now.

*The Richie Allen Show, which in my opinion is tied for first place with Bonnie Faulkner’s Gun’s and Butter as the best radio show in English, period, was banned from YouTube under a ludicrous pretext.

*And now, right here in the beautiful East Bay, home of the Free Speech Movement, Bonnie Faulkner’s Guns and Butter has not only been taken off KPFA, but all of Bonnie’s archives, going back decades, have been erased!

So…where’s the good news? First: All of this extreme, outrageous, over-the-top censorship is motivated by panic. Subversive truth is spreading, and the social control freaks and public mythmongers are at their wits’ end.

More good news: You CAN fight back! Think globally, act locally: Support Bonnie Faulkner this Saturday!

Please attend the KPFA Local Station Board meeting this Saturday, September 15, at the North Berkeley Senior Center, 1901 Hearst Avenue in Berkeley, right near the station. The meeting is from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM Pacific time.

The Public Comment agenda item which usually takes place at around 11:30 or 12 has been set for 2:45. The agenda for this meeting shows that right after the usual housekeeping items like agenda and minutes approval, General Manager Quincy McCoy will give his report and then the body will adjourn to an Executive Session for which the public will have to leave and wait around for the Open meeting to resume. Then additional business will take place before reaching the Public Comment item. But by then the General Manager will likely have left the meeting. So if you want to try to say anything to Mr. McCoy you should get to the meeting no later than 11: 15 AM and call for Public Comment to be taken before the body goes into Executive Session.

KPFA mismanagement isn’t just censoring Bonnie Faulkner, they’re censoring you. This Saturday, it’s time to talk back and let your voice be heard!

Please put the free speech back in Berkeley—be there this Saturday, 11 a.m., North Berkeley Senior Center, 1901 Hearst Avenue, near the North Berkeley BART station!

‘Prepare For The Worst’: Florence Strengthens To A Category 4 Hurricane

By Mac Slavo

As Hurricane Florence continues on its path toward the east coast, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster had some good advice. “Plan for the worst, pray for the best,” said the governor.

Hurricane Florence strengthens quickly to a category 4 storm, with a potentially catastrophic outcome. “Now is the time for your family also to prepare and stay tuned for more updates,”  McMaster also said. According to USA Today, a coastal North Carolina county on Monday issued a mandatory evacuation order for its entire population as Hurricane Florence strengthened to a Category 4 storm and continued its slow but violent trek toward the East Coast of the United States.

The National Hurricane Center said Florence is expected to slam into the coast around North and South Carolina as a Category 3 or 4 hurricane on Thursday or Friday. The storm’s winds had increased to 130 mph on Monday.  The governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper has already asked president Donald Trump to declare Florence a federal disaster ahead of the storm. Of course, that won’t help those in its destructive path.

The hurricane center’s description of a Category 4 hurricane begins with “catastrophic damage will occur.” The center warns that such storms will snap or uproot most trees and down power poles and that power can be out in some areas for weeks or months.  Any Category 3, or higher hurricane is classified as a major hurricane.

The hurricane center warned that the swells are likely to cause “life-threatening” surf and current conditions. Even before the evacuation order, Dare County emergency officials warned that rough seas and strong rip currents are already creating dangerous conditions. Florence is going to pose a very serious threat to those living on the East Coast later this week, according to AccuWeather. Florence could also increase in intensity and become a category 5 hurricane before it slams into the east coast later this week, warned AccuWeather.

For those in Florence’s path, now is the time to make preparations for the hurricane.

AccuWeather meteorologist Brett Rossi said the ground in North and South Carolina and Virginia is already saturated from recent rains. Rivers are high, and the storm will be moving slowly when it arrives, exacerbating the situation, Rossi told USA Today.  “This is very scary rain event potentially setting up this week,” Rossi said. “Florence could dump a foot of rain in places that cannot handle it, making for a very scary flooding situation in some areas.”

10 Ways to Preserve Meat Without a Fridge or Freezer

Take a look at the average prepper’s pantry and you’ll see lots of rice, beans, pasta, canned veggies, dehydrated fruits, and so forth. But take a look at their daily diet and you’ll see lots of beef, steak, chicken, and other meats. See the problem?

Many preppers love to eat meat, but unfortunately, they have a tendency to only store it in the fridge or freezer. What are they going to do for meat if the power grid goes down and the refrigerator no longer works?

The good news is, there are more ways to store meat that most people realize. In this article, we’ll take a look at ten ways to preserve meat without a fridge or freezer, divided into the five most common and the five least common.

Five Most Common Meat Preservation Methods

1. Canning Meat

Canning is simply a process where food is preserved by being sealed in an airtight container, with an expected shelf life of around two to three years at a minimum.

Canning meat is definitely one of the more popular and well-known methods for preserving meat, but it’s also one that will require some practice to get it right, and you’ll want to be very careful so you don’t end up with botulism.

Whereas some foods can be canned with a water bath canner, you can’t safely preserve meat this way. Rather, you’ll need to use a good pressure canner.

It works by heating water and trapping the resulting steam in a pressurized container, which raises the temperature to 240 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, killing any and all bacteria. It might sound intimidating at first, but pressure canners are perfectly safe once you know how to use them.

Here is a guide to canning meat.

2. Curing (aka Salting)

Curing, otherwise known as salting, is one of the oldest known meat preservation methods. In fact, this method was even used by the Ancient Romans.

Curing is also a unique process because it can be used effectively for most types of meat (poultry, pork, fish, beef, etc.) and it works for both cooked and raw meat as well.

To cure meat, first, you’ll want to remove as much fat as possible. Then you can rub salt and any other spices you want over the meat, completely covering it. You’ll then want to refrigerate it for at least a week (or place it outside in cold–but not freezing–weather, out of direct sunlight). Finally, rinse off all the salt and other mixes with water.

Afterward, you’ll need to tightly wrap the meat in cheesecloth. Store the meat in a dry and cool place and it should be safe to eat for two to three months. Below you’ll find a detailed guide to curing meat at home.

3. Dehydration

One of the easiest ways to store meat is to dehydrate it. There are two options for pursuing this route with modern technology: a solar dehydrator, or an electric dehydrator.

Solar dehydrators have the unique advantage of not requiring electricity, though they are also dependent on getting plenty of sunlight.

If you choose not to use a dehydrator, you can use an oven. Or if you prefer a more traditional path, you can simply hang the meat in the sunlight. You’ll just need to make sure your meat has been cut into very thin slices with as much fat removed as possible.

4. Freeze Drying Method

In order to freeze dry meat, you will need to purchase a freeze dryer. Unfortunately, they are very expensive, which means that this may not be the most practical option for many of you. That being said, if you do choose to purchase a freeze dryer, then this method is certainly one of the best options available for preserving meat.

Furthermore, just about any food can be freeze-dried. You can even freeze-dry leftovers if you want to. In fact, some of the most popular survival foods on the market are freeze-dried. You can also arrange them in jars, and since almost anything can be freeze-dried, you can easily create a good all-around meal in a jar.

By purchasing a freeze dryer as well, most of the steps that you would need to take will be done for you. You’ll simply need to slice up your meat into thinner pieces and then place them on the trays of the freeze dryer. The freeze dryer will then drop the temperature inside to as much as fifty degrees below Fahrenheit, creating a vacuum around the meat.

After that, the inside of the freeze dryer is warmed and the water is converted into vapor, removing it from the meat. So the meat is frozen, then dried. Thus the term, freeze-dried.

5. Smoking

Last but not least, smoking is easily one of the most traditional meat preservation methods in existence, and it’s been around for centuries.

Historically, meat smoking has been used in areas with high humidity where dehydrating or air drying meat was simply impossible. Though of course, those were in the days before dehydrators were invented.

Meat smoking also has the distinct advantage of making your meat very flavorful. Most people who smoke meat don’t do it for preservation, but rather for the taste.

In order to smoke meat, you’ll need to have a backyard. Basically, you soak wood chips in water for a full day, and then place those chips into the smoke box. You set the temperature of the smoker to how you want it, then you spread the meat over the racks within the smoke.

You’ll then need to cook the meat until you get it to the right temperature (different meat types have different temperature requirements) and continue to add smoke. You’ll need to continue to add more wood chips to the smoker as well. It’s the smoke that produces the flavor.

You can purchase a small smoker, or you could build your own smokehouse.

Five Least Common Meat Preservation Methods

6. Biltong

Biltong is a process where pieces of meat are marinated in vinegar for several hours before being flavored in rock salt, whole coriander, black peppercorns, and sometimes brown sugar, baking soda, barbeque spice, or cloves.

The meat is then allowed to sit for a few hours before being hung out to dry. This method is similar to the process of creating jerky, and the meat will be able to last for a long time outside of the fridge or freezer. Watch the video below to learn how to make it.

7. Brining

Brining is a more traditional form of meat preservation. If done properly, it can make your meat last for several years.

RELATED:

Brine is simply a mixture of water, salt, and brown sugar (the sugar is optional). You soak your meat in the mixture for several weeks, and you can eat it at any time. When it’s done, after a month or so, you can store it at room temperature. Although to be on the safe side, you should keep it as cool as possible.

It works because salt gets into the meat and stops bacteria from spreading. Meanwhile, the water keeps it nice and moist. Here is some more information about brined meat.

8. Lard

Another old-school method for preserving meat is to preserve it in lard. This can actually be a very practical preservation method if you have a lot of fat on hand. Basically, you just place your meat in a crockpot and cover it with melted lard.

This works for preservation because the lard stops air from reaching the meat, thus stopping bacteria from growing as well. This method is very cheap and easy, and it’s also effective.

Afterward, you’ll always want to store the meat in a cool and dry location. Under no circumstances will you want to store meat covered in lard in a hot environment.

Here’s some more information on preserving food in lard.

9. Rillette

Rillette isn’t so much a meat preservation method as much as it is a meal on its own. Basically, you take some port and chop it up, salt each piece, and then cook it in fat until it can be shredded. You then wait for the meat to be cooled until you can form it into a paste. Finally, you pack it in glass jars.

Usually, rillette is used as an addition to meals, such as spreading it over bread. You can add herbs to it such as thyme, oregano, or lavender to greatly increase the flavor. When properly done, rillette can last you for at least a month. Watch the video below to learn how to make it.

10. Sugar Syrup Method

Did you know that you can also preserve meat by using sugar? In fact, this may be one of the most accessible methods for the ordinary person. Examples of foods you can preserve using sugar include ham, pork, bacon, and fruit.

What you’ll need to do is chop up your meat into small pieces. Place that meat into a clean mason jar, then fill up the rest of the jar with sugar syrup. Proceed to seal the jar completely shut, and you’re all set. It works because the sugar prevents the growth of bacteria.

Conclusion

Everyone needs protein in their diet, especially in a survival scenario, so unless you plan on stockpiling tons of nuts and beans, you need to store some meat. And if you’re currently relying on a fridge or freezer to store your meat, you need to look into some of these other meat preservation methods while you still can on.

Trump Told Mattis to Nuke Syria after Fake Gas Attack

source: VT

Editor’s note: Our sources have the real quote, “nuke em,’ I want to turn Damascus into a parking lot,” Trump to Secretary of Defense Mattis during April 2017 phone call.  Trump had just read Facebook posts, made by al Qaeda,  that claimed Syria had used chlorine gas in Idlib province.  Trump NEVER checks where his online information comes from, he thinks it’s all true.  “Unhinged” is an understatement.

A new book by Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward claiming to offer insight into a tumultuous Trump White House revealed the tense atmosphere during the lead-up to the US missile strikes against Syria in April 2017.

According to Woodward, following the alleged chemical attack at Khan Shaykhun on April 4, 2017, which Syrian and Russian officials slammed as a false flag attack aimed at discrediting the Syrian government, President Trump was so furious that he wanted to assassinate Syrian President Bashar Assad.

In a telephone call with Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Trump allegedly said the following, according to Woodward: “Let’s f***ing kill him! Let’s go in. Let’s kill the f***ing lot of them.”

Telling the president that he would deal with it, Mattis hung up the phone and instead allegedly told an aide: “We’re not going to do any of that. We’re going to be much more measured.”

Three days later, following internal consultations, but before the alleged chemical attack could be properly investigated, the United States launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles from destroyers in the Mediterranean Sea at the Shayrat air base, in what Washington claimed was a direct response to the Khan Shaykhun “attack.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the US aggression a violation of international law, with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei describing it as a strategic mistake.

The US strike, which killed several Syrian troops and civilians, and destroyed several planes, failed to reach its objectives of crippling the Syrian Air Force, with aircraft taking off from the base’s runways just hours after the attack to strike terrorist targets. However, the attack did prompt Moscow to announce that it would take measures to help strengthen Syria’s air defenses.

On April 14, 2018, the United States and its British and French allies carried out new strikes, again over claims that the Syrian government had used chemical weapons, this time in Douma, using over 100 cruise missiles. Immediately following that attack, the Russian military reported that Syrian air defenses had shot down 71 of the 103 cruise missiles fired. Syrian media reported that half a dozen troops, and three civilians, had been injured in the attack.

In a fit of public rage on Twitter ahead of the strikes, Trump called President Assad an “animal,” and threatened a “big price to pay” for the “chemical attack,” which has since been conclusively proven to have been a false flag operation committed by the White Helmets organization.

The White House has yet to comment on the contents of Woodward’s book, or the authenticity of the quotes the journalist has ascribed to the president or General Mattis.
